A special journey

These are two amazing people who have made an amazing transformation. Meet Michael and Brittany Jean.

Most people that have an amazing weight loss story have a moment of disgust. Mike and Brittany had such a moment a couple of years ago. Here is their story...

A couple of years ago Mike and Britt waited in line for a an hour plus for a roller coaster at Universal Studios. When they got to the head of the line they couldn't get on the ride because, well, Mike was too fat. He looked like this:

They had reached their breaking point. Something had to be done. They got to work eating right and exercising. The pounds didn't just fall off. As a matter of fact they were struggling to lose weight and getting frustrated.

That is when Brittany's friend Cristina encouraged them to give the 24 Day Challenge a try.

They trusted Cristina and Cristina introduced them to Teresa and I. Reluctantly they both got the 24 Day Challenge and got started.

24 days later they set the male and female records on our team for most fat lost during the 24 Day Challenge. Mike lost 26 lbs of fat and Brittany lost 25 lbs of fat. They still hold the records to this day.

To date Mike is down 115 lbs and Brittany is down 50 lbs.

We are so proud of them both. The pictures tell an amazing story but the different in their attitudes is hard to measure but just an profound. They have confidence. They have energy. They are better people and better parents. They are paying off debt and enjoying life a lot more.

They are an inspiration. Truly...and inspiration.

Do you want to learn more about the program that started the journey for them? Do you have 6 minutes to gain some knowledge that could transform your life or potentially the life of someone that you love? 6 minutes that changed Mike and Brittany's life forever could save your aunt or your mom or your brother...

What did you not see in the video? Well you didn't see that there is professional coaching that goes with AND, if you local to Central Florida you get FREE workouts for up to 2 months. How cool is that?

Don't worry if you are not local. We still coach you up and get you on track.

I hope the transformation of Mike and Brittany inspired you and I hope that you have a name or two of people that you think would benefit from our help. Could you share this with them? They will appreciate you!

Have a great week!

Elite

We were in Forth Worth, Texas a few weeks ago for leadership training with Advocare. It was an AMAZING and empowering experience and the takeaways were many. Often with an event like this there is a theme that resonates from all the presenters. This was indeed the case.

But that is not what resonated with me. It was an awesome theme but to me it was ONE WORD that got stamped on my heart and soul.

One word: Elite.

It came from Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witton.

He said this, "Be elite in every aspect of your life."

Wow.

The words hit me hard.

Jason Witton is a true man among men. He came from a broken home and has an outstanding story. When he was a teenager his grand father became his mentor and coach. His grand father told him that if he wanted to be elite in football first he needed to be elite in every area of his life. Those are some powerful words.

Jason took it to heart and the rest..well...is history. READ MORE.

He has become not only and elite football player but a LEADER is so many areas.

I bring up Jason Witton and his message from Leadership School for a very specific message.

My message to you is the same as Jason's message to the Advocare Leadership Team: Be elite in every area of your life.

Don't get me wrong. This isn't easy. It is a process but you can do it.

Honestly it's not my job to help you be elite in most of the areas. My job is to help you to be elite is the area of health and fitness.

The following 10 tips will not only help you to reach peak health BUT ALSO will help you be feel better, look better and be better in life in general. If you somehow think that your health and vitally isn't tied to success in EVERY area of your life well then I may not be able to help you...

1. Become a positive person. Eliminate all negatively from your life. PERIOD.
2. Become a doer and not and excuse maker.
3. Stop seeking attention on social media and start making a difference. Positive attention is giving to those doing things. Negative attention is given to people asking for attention.
4. Establish unbreakable rules in your life. For example: I do not drink soda, I do not eat fast food, I do not do drugs, I do not smoke...etc. You get the point. Don't break your own rules. Be ELITE!
5. Workout everyday and bring others with you.
6. Fuel your body the right way and don't give into the latest greatest "fad" diet. A balanced approach is ALWAYS the right way. How do you know if it is a fad diet? It has a NAME!
7. Supplement your body with only the best micro nutrition. My suggest is the use Advocare supplements. It's what Jason Witton uses. If it's good enough for him then its good enough for me.

8. Be involved in a sport. Golf, softball, running, triathlon...it doesn't matter what the sport. Do something that you will have to train for. This will help you to stay focused.
9. Involve and support your family in fitness activities. It's about paying it forward. Don't discount how important this is!
10. Balance contentment and ambition. This is a blog post in itself. Be proud of who you are and what you look like. But NEVER be satisfied with that. ALWAYS try to be better and be more! I took a lame selfie at the store yesterday. To show that I have little shame...here is it:
I worked out 3 times yesterday.

Am I content with the way I look and the way I feel? 100% YES!

Do I still work hard to look better, feel better and be better. 100% YES!

So there you have it. Be elite in every area of your life and you are guaranteed to find success. How could you not?

I leave with you a final thought today.

Don't expect to do one or two things "elite" and find true happiness. You can take that statement however you take it. Lot's of people have lots of money and are very unhappy. Lot's of fit people are unhappy. Lot's of people excel in one area of life but falter in others.

Be honest. Look yourself in the mirror and ask, "Am I elite in every area of my life?"

If the answer is no then get to work becoming elite. Then you will find happiness.

Hope you found value here. Please like, comment and share if you feel that this message may help someone you know that needs it. We appreciate that!

To your success!

Heart break at Winn-Dixie

We were checking out at the super market just yesterday. The lady cashier was very nice and helped us out with a coupon when she really didn't have to.

I love good customer service.

Here is the coupon story and within it lies the heartbreak. Our coupon was only good if we spend more than $50. The bill came to $44 but Teresa, the wonderful only lady at the cash register who shares a name with my lovely wife, said, "No problem. I'll get an override and you can use the coupon."

Awesome.

She called over Sara and Sara took care of it.

Now, let me stop right there. I am NOT being judgmental and I DO NOT pretend to know these people or their circumstance in life. This is just an observation that illustrates a point to me. Bear with me and please give me a little latitude.

Teresa looked to be 60+ while Sara was no older than 21 or 22. Sara was the "manager" whom Teresa needed to approve the override so that we could save $5.

This is what came to my mind. Why is this older lady working at Winn-Dixie being supervised by a girl who could very well be her grand daughter?

Who really knows. Maybe Teresa just loves people and has a million dollars in the bank and works for the fun of it. That is not the point.

The point is that WAY TO MANY people are working late into life when they should be kicked back on the beach, playing golf and spoiling their grand children.

That is what broke me heart.

How many people do you know that are working full time after 60 because they have to simply to survive?

I say it's more then there should be and I am NOT going to be one of them.

Again, nothing again people working late into life. We do what we have to do.

Take a moment to reflect on your life. Are you prepared to retire and stop working at a reasonable age? That age for me is 50. After 50 if I work I will do it because I WANT to NOT because I have to.

There is a distinction.

You may ask why this is part of a fitness blog?

What does saving for retirement have to do with fitness?

Everything!

As you age what does better health do for you? I have a few thoughts...
- You have less stress so you have less disease.
- You are happier so you are more successful.
- You have more energy so you are a more productive worker so you make more money.
- You spend less money on health care and have more money to save and invest.

This is 100% truth.

These is nothing more important for your future than your health today.

My wife Teresa and I do two things. We health people get better health and we help people earn income with a Plan B. CLICK HERE to learn more about the income part.

If you want to learn more about how we can make you healthy we have programs for you if you are local to central Florida and if you are not.

Shoot me an email and we can set up a time to talk about your goals.

Does this article make sense? If it does please share with your friends so that maybe we can help them as well.

To you success!

Top 5 health tips from the fitness guru

You could go on and on about what it takes to be healthy. Honestly there are literally hundreds of ways to describe how to be healthy. I get that.

Here is what I have done for you today. I have taken my 18 years experience as a coach and personal trainer and compressed all that knowledge and experience into 5 tips that are guaranteed to lead you to amazing levels of fitness.

This is impactful so pay close attention.

Tip #1: Think, act and make decisions like a champion.

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING that we do and everything that we are is determined by the thoughts we have and the actions that we take. If you believe you can then you will. If you don;t then you will not.

Don't discount this. This includes things like the goals we set, the people we hang out with, the priorities we make... you get the drift. To be a champion you have to BE A CHAMPION.

All results start as a decision. First you make the decision then you create the actions.

Tip #2: Fuel your body like a champion.

When you open your mouth what you put in there determines who you become.

This is truth.

Are you eating crap? Are you smoking? Doing drugs? What you consume determines who you are.

No need for specifics here. You all know how to eat. You all know that going to McDonalds is bad news. We all know that eating sugar and bread is going to make us fat. So why do we do it?

We need fuel our bodies like the champions that we are. The people that look the best and healthiest, do they are eat crap? Do they drink soda?

No intent to offend anyone here. Walk around the grocery store. Who do you see with cereal, soda and bag of treats in their carts? Is it the people that you see at the gym busting out pull-ups and running down the road or is it the people that you don't see at the gym? It's harsh but true.

To bit healthy and fit you need to focus on your attitude and decisions. A big part of that is putting the right stuff in your body.

Tip #3: Workout like an athlete.

Have you ever gone to the gym and really noticed all the people on the treadmills, elliptical trainer and circuit machines? Two questions: do they look fit and do they look happy.

Some do but I'd say that most are bored and not happy with their results.

Watch Rocky IV again. Train like Rocky.

Seriously. Our bodies are designed to work functional and not sit on a machine and push a weight on an unchangeable course.  Work out like an athlete.

Sure it's hard at first. You might be sore. You may even get hurt. Who cares? Suck it up and do push-ups, burpees, squats and run around the block. You will only "feel" like your are going to die.

Chances are you have a better change of dying by not working out then doing burpees till you puke.

Hire a trainer and tell them you want to look like an athlete. If they show up with a clip board and put you on a bicep curl machine fire them on the spot.

Workout like an athlete if you want results.

Tip #4: Get you ass outside.

Please forgive the vulgarity if that kind of thing offends you.

Be honest. When was the last time you spend, ON A WEEKDAY, at least 60 minutes outside? For some the of you the answer is appalling. If it in not EVERYDAY then you have a problem.

Get outside. Find an actively that gets you off the couch and onto a trail or a field somewhere. There is something to be said for breathing air that isn't recycled through a vent system.

There is something about getting sun on your skin. Get out side.

You will get the benefits of fresh air, sunshine, reduced stress and maybe some exercise.

Tip #5: Work with a team of professionals and I'm not talking about a medical doctor.

The most successful people in every industry have a coach. You should to!

First and foremost I would suggest a chiropractor to take care of your medical needs. In my books most doctors aren't going to be super helpful. If you are sick or hurt go see a doctor by all means. If want to avoid being sick and hurt then go see a chiropractor for sure.

Another professional I would consider is a personal trainer. You don't need to pay a lot. Just have a good relationship with someone that knows what he or she is doing and can advise you. That's all.

It's part of what we do. Shoot me an email rick@yourbestfitnesscoach.com to see if we can help.

Assemble a team of accountability partners and professionals to help you along your journey.

Who likes to go on a long journey alone? Create a team!

I hope that you got some value from this post. If you did we would appreciate if you shared this blog so that someone that needs to see these words may be reached and maybe, just maybe, a life can be changed.

To your success!

The next goal

Have you ever seen someone a class reunion or at a wedding and been like, "WOW"? They just look amazing. Then, weeks or months later you see him or her in the supper market and you can tell that they put on weight.

Happens all the time.

I remember one time a good number of years ago I saw my aunt at a family reunion. This was before I was a trainer so I was unbiased at the time. She just looked different. She looked healthy and fit. It was very obvious that she had been working out. That night she got all dressed up and headed off to her 20 year high school reunion.

Of course.

Does it surprise you that the next year she had gained about 20 lbs and a quite a bit of extra gray?

You can't tell me that you haven't seen this.

In this short video I'm going to give you a sure fire strategy to avoid the trap of getting in shape only to get right back out of shape. This is VERY valuable information.

What are some things that we can get in shape for?
- Bathing suit season
- Wedding
- Reunion
- Sports leagues
- Ski vacation
- Hiking trip
- Biking trip
- Triathlon
- Road race
- Mud Run
- Adventure race

There are lots of "reasons" to get in shape. There are a LOT MORE reasons to stay IN SHAPE.

Are you local to central Florida? If so we would love to offer you a FREE WEEK of our fitness class. Workouts are hard but fun and functional.
We do 11 classes per week:

Monday / Wednesday / Friday NOON
Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday 5:30pm
Tuesday / Thursday / Friday 6am

Classes are 30-45 minutes and are highly functional. No machines.

We do our fitness program at the Impact Center at Trinity Church. 890 Abrams Road, Eustis. Mention this blog entry and get a FREE WEEK.

The difference between where you are and where you want to be is sometimes called hard work. Are you ready to work hard?

Here is to you being a CHAMPION!

Make do

Have you ever been challenged by something and simply given up?

I think we all have. We are meeting someone for a run at 7am and we oversleep by 5 minutes. Instead of being 5 minutes late we simply skip it. We are on the road and starving. Instead of taking time to find a grocery store or a healthier place like Subway we stop at Pizza Hut or McDonalds.

The message for today is simply to "MAKE DO" with what you are given at the present moment. Life will go on.

I think the most overlooked fact about lack of success is how easy people buckle when it comes to setbacks. The video tells you a simple story about my wife not excepting something could have derailed her. Was it a huge deal? No it was not.

The point is this: if you start letting the little things get in your way then you are going to become that person.

How does someone get to be 300 lbs? I have never heard of a 300 lbs bouncing baby boy. It happens from one bad decision then another, then another. Its a culmination of many excuses. "I don't have time to....." or "My husband took the kettlebell..."

This is truth.

Hope you saw some value in this post today. Make sure to check back everyday for another short message.

To your success!

Are you stuck?

We all have health and fitness goals. Sometimes we are get stuck.

It's the truth. The scale doesn't move like it used to. The times aren't getting faster anymore. The lifts aren't getting easier. Stuck.

Are you stuck?

If you are stuck watch this quick video and I will tell you 3 strategies to get yourself un-stuck and moving in the right direction.

Remember that you always have the choice to change your circumstances. Indeed you are not a tree...

I am a firm believer that you need to put the right stuff in your body if you want to get the right stuff out of your body. I have learned over my 15 years as a personal trainer that food is not enough. We ALL have gaps in our nutrition. We all are also out of balance nutritionally.

We stake out business and out reputation on the 24 Day Challenge from Advocare.

If you are stuck of it you want to get massive results and don't know where to start then I would suggest that you look into the 24 Day Challenge. Will watching a 6 minute video change your life? Nope. Will taking action change your life? YES! Will watching a 6 minute video hurt you? It will not. Watch and see if it is something that you want to learn more about.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

PLEASE email me (rick@yourbestfitnesscoach) or call my cell phone (352-989-6795) if you want to get started or have any questions. We are here to help!

To your success!

Early

I love getting out and working out early. Here is a quick selfie from my early morning run:

I think the best thing about an early morning workout is that you are DONE. The other cool thing is that you have time later to get second workout in if you so desire!

Nothing wrong with working out twice.

Watch this short video to see what I have to say about my early morning run.

The benefits of working out early:

1. It's done!
2. The weather is usually nicer.
3. Less traffic.
4. Hang with like minded people.
5. Less distractions. (spouses and kids usually still in bed!)

Do you like working out in the morning but don't want the hassle of joining a gym and not knowing that to do and getting locked into a contract?

If so we have an option for you. If you are local to Central Florida you can give Your Best Fitness Coach a shot. We do classes 6am Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Workouts are hard, I'm not going to lie. Isn't that why we work with a coach? All workouts are programmed by me and functional in nature. No heavy weights and no ripped open palms; just hard metabolic conditioning that helps you shed fat and gain strength.

If you want to learn more send a me a quick email and we can set up a time to talk about your goals and see it what we offer is right for you. We also do on-line coaching and on-site group workouts. Send me an email if you are ready to get fit and ready to work to do it!

Your reality

How do you change your reality?

The simple answer is that you...change your reality. To change you reality you simply need to do two things:

1. Speak different words.
2. Do different things.

Speak it then do it. Watch this short video to learn more about this simple yet powerful paradigm.

I just LOVE the screen captures from my YouTube videos. Someday I'll figure out how to change that.

Success in almost anything it pretty simple when you think of it. All it requires is a purpose and a desire to win no matter what the cost. Once you have that the rest falls into place.

If you are local to Central Florida then we would like to invite you to our home in Grand Island tonight at 7pm. We are doing another Nutritional Mixer. We would love for you to come if you have a desire to be more and help other people.

We do two things:

1. We help people get AMAZING physical results with the best nutritional supplements on the planet.

2. We also help people to change there lives an earn income. As a matter of fact we will have a lady here tonight named Audra who earned a $500 Rookie Bonus a couple of weeks ago. Good stuff, right?

If you are in the area then stop on by. You have nothing to lose any everything to gain.

This is NOT a sales presentation or some sort of sketchy "time share presentation". We are not offering "free" cruises. Just free Spark! Bring no money because we are not selling anything. We just want people to know what we do!

Our address is 2481 Plumadore Dr, Grand Island. If you are going to come please RSVP rick@yourbestfitnesscoach.com

Belief

The single thing that separates those that succeed in changing their fitness level and those that do not is belief.

I know it is very simple and I know I talk about this all the time but I believe that 100%. Without believe there are no results. Period.

Watch this quick video as I talk about belief.

I can think of many times in my life when I failed at something. Almost every time I can trace that failure back to a lack of belief. The same thing goes for victories in life.

When you believe you achieve. When you don't believe you fail every time.

You may still fail if you believe but...guess what? You will fail every single time if you don't have a sense of believe. Choice is yours.

Here are 5 ways to help you believe and thus achieve.

1. Set you short term goals low so you can get some victories. If you want to lose 100 lbs how about setting a goal to lose 5 lbs in a month? Once you achieve that goal then you start setting bigger one. The belief that you have will grow and grow.

2. Have a mentor. THIS IS HUGE. You need someone there to not only encourage you but also be real about course corrections. The "go it alone" style of success is a disaster waiting to happen. People that do that are simple looking for an easy way out. Trust me. You need someone to slap that french fry out of your hand or call you out when you miss 6am workout.

3. Be positive to a fault. Speak and write your beliefs and they will come true AND you will gain support along the way. When you say that you can you are going to attract into your world people that agree with you. Guess what happens when you say you can't? Exactly.

4. Be willing, ready and EXCITED to change your life in potentially drastic ways. You may have to spend money, get up early, stay up late, dump close friends, change your routine... you know... CHANGE WHO YOU ARE. If you are not taking action towards change then you are simply talking a talk and not willing to change. This leads to you believing your own lame excuses.

5. Leaders are readers. If you want to become more then you need to read books that inspire, motivate and educate you. It doesn't matter what you are trying to do. If you are not growing as a person then you are not extending your self to reach your top goals.

This is all truth.

If you are interested in being part of our team helping to change some lives then you have 2 options:

FREE webinar at 9pm EST tonight (Monday): Details http://www.teamnextlevel.org/Next_Level/Welcome.html

or if you are local to Lake County Florida you can come to our "Advocare Nutritional Mixer" at 7pm EST Tuesday. We do this every Tuesday at our home: 2481 Plumadore Dr, Grand Island.

Please RSVP: rick@yourbestfitnesscoach.com

Who knows...maybe you will be able to help someone like Mike...

Mirror

I think my favorite Michael Jackson song from back in the day is a tune called "Man in the Mirror".

Who better to talk to about you problems then the man in the mirror?

I am a firm believer that YOU are responsible for YOU.

We live in a society where it is easy to blame our parents, our teachers, the president, the weather, our trainer, the media....etc.

Fact is it's YOUR fault.

If you "peal the onion" you will find the real answer, which is always the same.

"I'm overweight and I wish there was something that I could do about it."

"Did you exercise for an hour today?"

"No. I didn't have time."

"Did you watch The Bachelor?"

"It was the season finale!"

Exactly.

If you are stuck and need some help will you let my wife Teresa and I help you? It's what we do. We change lives and we build champions.

But only if you truly want to change....

Negativity is dense

Each bit of positive is a feather. Each bit of negative is a bowling ball. This is truth my friends.

Some of us are bombarded with negative. This come from within and it comes from the outside. Some of us surround ourselves with negative people so that we can feel at home.

We are have negatively in our lives. To not admit this is a folly.

Some of us will EMBRACE the negatively because it is easy. REMEMBER that negatively is dense so it requires less effort to put out and bring in.

My advice to you:
- Surround yourself with positive forward thinking people.
- Do as much positive as you can.
- Eliminate as much negative from your life as possible.
- Have a CAN DO attitude.
- Be grateful for what you HAVE and not sad about what you HAVE NOT.
- If you want something then go get it.
- Have an attitude of abundance and not scarcity.
- Smile.

I know this is all simple stuff and it seems pretty mundane. Look at your Facebook wall. Do you want to hang out with the people that are posting about how wonderful their life is or are you attracted to the people that are "aggravated" or "frustrated" or "disappointed".

Just something to think about.

If you get value here please like our Facebook page and share this post. We always appreciate that!

Who you are...

Have you ever tried to figure out who you are? Really. Have you ever tried to define yourself?

Have you ever asked the question: Who am I?

For some it may seem like a hard question to answer. Some of us have the answer pretty much figured out...or at least we think we do.

I am here to tell you the truth. Do you want to know who you are?

Go to your Facebook page and start scrolling.

Are you complaining about things that you can't change? Do you say things like "so over it" or are you using vulgar language? Are you sharing and posting about topics that have "sides": politics, abortion, gay rights, gun rights etc. Are you sharing videos about "bad" cops or about animal abuse or about death and crime?

All of these things may have a place in your life but what are you really doing when you share these things?

Do you argue with people on Facebook? Do you put down your spouse? What does it say about YOU when you do this? Do you complain to the world on Facebook about bad service or bad neighbors?

Again, what does this say about you?

Here is my favorite: "I can't stand Facebook there is so much drama!"

I have over 1500 friends and not one bit of drama. Wonder why?

Who you are is who you choose to be. Just remember that the way you identify yourself is the way that YOU identify yourself. Choice is yours.

Who are you?

News

When I was growing up I spent most every weeknight at my grandparents house because my mom was working. I loved playing out side and enjoying playing with the neighborhood kids.

After dinner we ALWAYS sat down and watched the evening news. I'm not sure why and I don't remember anything about it but that is what we did.

This was what we did in the 80's. I'm sure it happens today as well.

What kind of "news" are subjecting our kids to? Could it be...

Honestly... What the hell are we teaching our children about the world? For some reason I read an article off my Facebook news feed this morning and the above image is what I captured.

Are you kidding me?

Remember that what we fill our mind with is what we are going to become. If we fill ourselves up with negatively day after day what does that say about who we are going to become? Yeah....

Do as Rich Froning does....

This guy is an absolute stud. 3X CrossFit games CHAMPION!
For many, many years I have told people that carried a clip board and programming workouts is not necessary the best way to go. Doing "back and biceps" one day and then "chest and tris" the next day may work for some but it doesn't work for me.

To each his own but I feel good about what I tell people because it is the same as Rich Froning. If it's good enough for him....

Here is what I think: workout. Do different things. Get real tired. Nourish. Rest. Repeat.

People make things to complicated. Reps and sets and body parts and this and that. Just work hard and you get fit. Why make it so complicated?

Here is the Rich Froning video. A day in the life... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vk8p84uiwk&app=desktop

If you are an athlete and are interested in takign your game to the next level why not try the supplements that Rich Froning uses? Seems like a good idea to me. Here are some videos telling you about our Performance Elite Line.

Please like and share with your friends if you find value. Have a fantastic day!
