Your Future is Perfect

Your future is perfect. I’ll accept that.

Your current circumstances are a direct result of the decisions that you’ve made throughout your life. (I stole this from Tony Robbins) This one may be harder for some of you to swallow I’ll take this statement well.

Now how do we tie the two together? A better question may be, can we tie the two together or even “should” we? And why?

I say the two statements are interchangeable.

Think back 5 years. Did you visualize in 2004 EXACTLY where you would be in the year 2009? Did you set up a plan and implement that plan or did you kind of go with the flow and float down the river of life like you were a passenger on a boat with no oars? I suspect that some of you will conclude that you did indeed want to be where you are now. Others surely didn’t plan to be overweight, out of work, homeless, divorced or be involved in any number of life’s tragedies. While it’s true that sometimes life goes out of our control, this isn’t always the case.
Your decisions and actions since 2004 have determined your outcome in 2009. What if, in 2009, you planned all your actions for the next 5 years and made better decisions during the same time? Where would you then be in 2014? Wow! Great question!

Your future is perfect. If you honestly believe this and work at it your future life can certainly be perfect as long as you don’t continue to make the same mistakes and excuses.

I always use this example so it may be getting old but it makes so much sense to me. Let’s say that you want to California. This may seem like a challenge and it is. Now do you know how you are going to get there? Are you going to drive? Take a plane? Do you have money? Do you know how to get to the airport? Do you know why you are going to California? Sometimes simple things can start to seem complex when you analyze it to much so I won’t go too much further. My point is this: If you want to have success then all you have to do is make the plan then work the plan. If you just start walking are you going to get to California? Eventually I’m sure you will. You are better off, however, of you develop a plan and work that plan!

Your future is perfect. Your future can be what ever you want it to be as long as you follow a few simple rules:

1. Set your goal. (Make sure its appropriate, challenging, important, time specific and measurable)
2. Make the final result important to you.
3. Design your plan with simple easy to follow instructions for yourself.
4. Set intermediate checkpoints.
5. Keep a positive attitude.
6. Enlist the help of others. (i.e. coach, personal trainer, chiropractor, friend)
7. Don’t ever give up!

Design, and then implement your perfect future. I have faith in you! Now have faith in yourself and get to work getting it done.

With enough desire and planning you literally do anything. ANYTHING!

  1. Here is my own personal philosophy: dream, believe and have the passion to persist.

BTW. I stumbled across an identification card from 1999. At that time I weighed 180 lb and although didn’t have a bunch of excess weight/fat wasn’t in shape. Who would have thought that by 2007 I would be 235 lb. Today I am anywhere from 185 to 190 lb and in perhaps the best shape of my life.

    Thanks!
